Chapter 061
The next day, after completing my morning routine, I boarded the train to Ueno. Normally, this line would be so crowded that I couldn't move during rush hour, but since it was summer vacation and there were no students, it seemed empty.
Even so, getting a seat was a mere dream, the train was so crowded that I hesitated to even open a paperback, let alone a newspaper. Still, I was grateful that I could get there without having to transfer.
"Um, the dungeon is at Shinobazu Exit..."
Just like Ueno Station in my previous life, Ueno Station was the northern gateway and had multiple ticket gates. Since a dungeon was created between Okachimachi and Ueno Station, I walked along the road that ran alongside the tracks.
In this world, Ameyoko does not exist. Instead, Kappabashi Tool Street is not specialized in tools, and is a huge shopping street that is like the Tool Street of my previous life with Ameyoko added.
On the way, I bought some seasonings such as salt, pepper, and miso, as well as rice, and packed them in my backpack. I'm going to take this to the lost house.
Turn right halfway between Okachimachi and the main street and head towards the main road. Soon the guild building comes into view. It's easy to find as people who look like explorers are coming and going.
"Another very thin one has come in. Could it be a magic user?"
"Hmm, I feel like I've seen that somewhere before..."
Local explorers are whispering to each other as they look at me. I think it would be better to buy a map and go in before I get bothered.
I bought a map at an open counter. I bought all the existing maps instead of just up to the 10th floor, so it was quite expensive, but it's a necessary expense so I don't mind.
"Okay, I’m here. A cave field, huh."
The monsters on the way are the same as my usual dungeon, so I quickly defeated only the unavoidable ones and arrived at the ninth floor. I'm going to go turtle hunting here... Or so I pretended.
I stray from the shortcut to the lower floors and took off my backpack. I activate [female body] and [spirit fox transformation] and transform into Tamamo. I open the lost house and take my backpack.
I put the seasonings and rice I bought and start cooking rice in the rice cooker provided. This is my first time cooking rice here, but I wonder what will happen if I go outside while it's cooking?
I should test that out. I go outside and immediately go back into the lost house. I check the rice cooker and it's on keep warm mode. I look at the rice cooker and see that it's filled with shiny, freshly cooked rice.
"What's going on with the passage of time here? Well, it's convenient, so I’m grateful for it, though."
I wash the rice, set it, and go in and out, and the rice will cook right away. Well, there's no inconvenience and it's not like there's anything to be gained by thinking about it, so I'll just accept it as that kind of place.
I made sure there were no other explorers around and hunted for drop turtles. After eating a lunch of freshly picked vegetables, salt-grilled rainbow trout, and freshly cooked rice, I took a break.
I stroked my own tail, enjoyed it, then put the magic stone of the drop turtle in my backpack and carried it on my back. I left the lost house like that, released the skill, and returned to being a man.
After that, I returned to the surface and sold the magic stones at the reception desk. The receptionist cried out in surprise when she saw the appraisal results of the magic stones.
"So many drop turtle magic stones..."
"I want the shell, so I'll bring some more. Oh, please transfer the payment to my account."
I left the receptionist dumbfounded and headed back to the dungeon. The explorers around me were whispering to each other, so I must have made an impression.
