Chapter 068
I picked up the golem's magic stone and went to pick up the abandoned broken one-handed sword a little distance away. If I left it like this, the poor sword would be absorbed by the dungeon.
"I don't know if it will work. But it's better than disappearing."
I summoned the lost house for a moment and threw in the magic stone and the broken sword. Fortunately, there were no signs of other golems gathering, so I decided to pursue the four who had retreated earlier.
The five were resting next to the whirlpool to the 16th floor. It would be creepy to just pass by like that, so I decided to talk to them.
"That level of noise won't attract golems. There's no risk of flooding. So, will you guys have no trouble getting back?"
"That's good. We'll be fine. If I carry the luggage, the other four can fight. It's no problem if you just go back."
It seems that the man who broke the sword is in charge of carrying the luggage to minimize the loss of fighting power. With the four, they should be able to deal with the pack wolves, and there should be little risk if they just go the shortest route.
"Understood. Then we'll go back first. I don't know if we'll meet again, but take care."
"Thank you for your help, you really helped me. I hope we'll meet again."
It seemed like a bit of a reckless challenge, but these five were normal explorers, not the soldiers from before. It would be nice to interact with people like that, but there are also people like that from the Gold Bug incident, so I hesitate.
After that, I went straight back to the ninth floor without making any detours. I passed several explorer parties on the way, so I might become a rumor later.
Arriving at the ninth floor, where the drop turtle appears, I deviated from the shortest route. After making sure that no one was around, I entered the lost house.
I carried the magic stone and broken sword that were left near the entrance to the house.
I took a short rest. I harvested cabbage from the field and made pork cutlets for the charging pig.
I bit into the delicious pork cutlet and shoveled it into my piping hot rice. I sandwiched some shredded cabbage between the pieces, which was sweet even without any toppings, and stuffed my cheeks with the cutlet again.
While I was eating, the thought of how unfair it wasn't to keep it all to myself kept were being sent to me, so I fried two more pork cutlets and offered them up along with a mountain of cabbage.
If I think of it as the price of being able to enjoy freshly fried pork cutlets in peace inside the dungeon, cooking some extra and offering it as an offering is no big deal.
After taking a break from eating, I wandered out of the house, picking up the hilt and blade of my broken sword. Just to be sure, I checked again to see if there was anyone around. After making sure there was no problem, I released my [spirit fox transformation] and [female body] skills.
I returned to being a man and activated the [dress-up doll] skill. A doll wearing a tracksuit appeared before me.
"Well, I wonder if it will work..."
I put the handle in the doll's right hand and the broken tip in its left. I believe there is a high chance that the handle will regenerate, but it's a gamble for just the tip.
All I can do now is wait for time to pass, so I put the doll away. I have enough turtle magic stones, so there's no need to go to the trouble of hunting in this form. Since I have nothing in particular to do, I become Tamamo and retreat to the lost house.
I'm bored until tomorrow morning on the surface. I'll harvest potatoes, onions, and carrots from the fields and make curry. I'll use the charging pig for meat.
I'm grateful that in both my past and current life, I can make delicious curry just by mixing and dissolving it. It's fun to blend different brands and spiciness, but today I'll choose a simple medium spiciness.
The pork cutlet curry, topped with fried pork cutlet, was delicious. I expected that I would be asked for some, so I fried some extra cutlets and offered them as an offering. Goddess-sama, this can't be the reason the Lost House was given to me... Right?
