"Everyone's in, let's get the car going."
"Going out with the family in the middle of the night is kind of exciting."
Today is April 28th. Tomorrow is my 14th birthday. I'm heading to the designated government office with my family to receive my skill at midnight.
Since registering a skill is a once-in-a-lifetime event, it's customary for the whole family to go out together. Furthermore, if the person is unable to appear due to hospitalization or other reasons, the facility that is taking care of the person is obligated to inform the government office.
"I feel like you're going to be given an incredible skill, Onii-chan."

Mai is more excited than I am, the one who will be receiving the skill. I'm happy that my cute little sister likes me, but I'm worried that she's going slightly towards the dark side.
The car drives smoothly through the empty roads at night and arrives at the designated government office. The government office where skills are registered has an army facility attached, so if someone who has been granted combat skills goes on a rampage, they can be quickly immobilized.
We parked the car in the parking lot and entered the facility. Inside, it felt like a small government office, and I showed the notice I had received at the only one of the three counters that was open.
"Excuse me, I will be granted skills tonight, so please register..."
"Ah, yes. You must be Takimoto Yu, we've been waiting for you. Please come over here, family."
The female attendant at the counter closed the counter and came out of the side passage to guide us. I was probably the only one registering tonight.
"There is still time, so please wait here. I will come again ten minutes before midnight to pick you up."
Our family was led to a small conference room-like place. There were vending machines for drinks and snacks, so it might be a waiting room.

My mother asked me, who was calm and not nervous at all, but no matter what skill I'm given, I'm sure I'll be diving into the dungeon. It's a strange analogy, but it feels like it's just a formality.

When you receive a skill, you can view a simple status by saying "status." By chanting "Status Open" others can view your status, so they register what is on this screen.
Now, I wonder what skills I've been given.
