Daily Life of a Reincarnated Explorer (ENG) C065

Chapter 065

Heading towards the 16th floor, I defeat the occasional salamander that I encounter. I can defeat them without taking damage, but it takes time to defeat them because foxfire doesn't work on them.

Well, it's a luxurious problem since I am progressing solo on a floor where normally parties are needed.

The monsters that appear on the 16th floor are Pack Wolves. Here, multiple monsters attack at the same time. Up until now, explorers were able to use a strategy of beating up a single monster with multiple people, but this doesn't work here, so the difficulty level rises.

The 16th floor is a labyrinth field. In the grasslands and wilderness, there is a risk of being attacked from all sides, but here, at worst, I'll be attacked from the front and back, so the difficulty level is slightly lower.

"Grrrrr..."

Five wolves immediately appeared from the front. Spec-wise, they are only slightly higher than the lone wolves, but they attack in groups, so if you think they're on par with the lone wolves, you'll be in for a nasty surprise.

First I hit the lead wolf with a foxfire. When it jumped to avoid, I hit it with another foxfire, but the wolf couldn't dodge and burst into flames.

The wolf stopped moving and turned into a magic stone, so I now know that a single foxfire is fatal. However, it would be dodged if I just fired straight at them, so it's best to think of it as needing two.

Two of the remaining four wolves charged at me. Perhaps they had learned that jumping was dangerous, they ran in a low position. I shot a foxfire at each of them to keep them at bay.

The other two wolves jumped out from behind the wolves that had stopped to avoid being hit. This coordination is what makes pack wolves so troublesome. But it doesn't work on me.

I quickly created a foxfire and hit the two wolves directly in the face. I dodged the burning wolf charging at me and looked at the remaining two, and I saw that they had also jumped in.

I crouched down to avoid a wolf's fangs and cut open its soft stomach with my iron fan. One of the wolves turned around after landing to face me, but the slashed wolf had turned into a magic stone.

Five wolves were no match, so there was no chance of victory for the last one. It jumped to dodge the foxfire I unleashed and used the wall to feint with a triple jump, but was quickly cut to pieces by the iron fan.

I was suddenly faced with five wolves, the maximum number on this floor, but I was able to hunt them down without taking any damage. As long as I wasn't sandwiched between two or more packs, I should be able to proceed without any problems.

After that, I continued on, defeating the wolves that occasionally attacked me. I also obtained a rare fur drop and was able to proceed smoothly.

I safely arrived at the whirlpool leading to the 17th floor, but since a lot of time had passed, I decided to go inside the lost house. I harvested potatoes, onions, and carrots in the fields and made charging pig nikujaga.

I felt like I received a thought from someone that seemed to be craving food, so I offered it to the shrine. I thought I heard a complaint about there being no shirataki noodles, but since I hadn’t brought any, I hope to be forgiven.

I took a bath to soothe my fatigue, and then stroked my own tail before going to bed. Even though it's my own tail, this fluffiness is addictive.

After a good night's sleep, I had a Charge bull beef bowl for breakfast. I made a mental note to remember to bring pickled ginger with me next time.

After making sure that no one was outside, I left the lost house. I entered the vortex to the 17th floor and appeared in a grassy field. It seemed there was another party here, and I could faintly hear the sounds of fighting from a distance.

I air-walked into the air and headed towards the sound. Let's take a look at what kind of battles ordinary explorers fight.
