Chapter 063
"I changed my plans and got so absorbed in hunting cows, should I consider extending it even further?"
I spent several hours passionately trying to exterminate cows. After successfully securing some beef, I returned to the lost home. I put the magic stones and meat I had thrown on the floor in a plastic bag and put them away in the lost house.
I immediately cut the beef into pieces and put it in a frying pan with oil, and the sizzling sound stimulated my appetite. I simply sprinkled salt and pepper on it for the time being.
I cooked it medium-well, put it on a plate, and brought it to the table. I put some rice in a bowl and started to eat.... But then, strangely enough, I noticed that the amount of beef I had cut had been reduced by half.
I felt like I was being watched from somewhere, so I cooked another piece of meat. I wondered how to cook it... Ah, medium well would be good.
I left the house with a plate of piping hot steak and headed to the shrine. As I placed the plate in front of the shrine, it disappeared in an instant. At the same time, I heard a cry of joy ring out in my head.
Unable to resist the increased sleepiness from my full stomach, I decided to go to bed for the night. I would definitely advance to the twelfth floor tomorrow. Since my day and night schedule had been reversed, technically it would be tonight, but I shouldn't worry about the details.
After getting a good night's sleep, I grilled another steak. This time I enjoyed it with garlic sauce. Suppressing the urge to hunt more cows, I headed to the twelfth floor.
The twelfth floor of this dungeon is a labyrinth. The artificial passages branched out to confuse intruders. Around a bend in one of these passages, the monster of this floor appeared.
It was a single hawk that appeared. It charged at high speed, but it didn't feel as threatening as the charge bull. I calmly dodged it and slashed with my fan, then it was transformed into a magic stone.
"If only the terrain were the opposite of the 11th floor."
I couldn't help but feel sorry for the monster that had turned into a magic stone. Its name is Fire Hawk. It is a formidable enemy that flies through the sky at high speed and casts fire magic as it descends.
Just like how I am unrivaled with my [Sky Walk] and [Foxfire], this is an extremely formidable enemy that shoots fireballs from the sky... Or so it should be, but the terrain is just too bad.
The ceiling means it can't gain height, so unilateral sniping is impossible. Furthermore, because it is a complicated labyrinth stage, it can only charge in without making use of its speed.
Even if it shoots fireballs, it is easy to dodge fireballs shot head-on, so they only serve as a deterrent.
It's a brutal specification that you have to deal with a high-speed, long-range fire hawk right after dealing with heavy monsters like the Drop Turtle, Orc, and Charge Bull.
... Or so it should have, but with this terrain it's just an easy target. I think the Fire Hawks born in this dungeon can be forgiven for cursing the dungeon.
However, monsters are monsters, so I cut down the fire hawks I encounter and head to the thirteenth floor. They can dodge foxfires, so it's easier to defeat them by slashing them as they pass.
I proceeded while slashing the poor hawks and arrived at the next floor, the thirteenth floor. This floor is a forest and it blocks the view. Considering the monsters that appear, it might be a bit troublesome.
Sensing a presence behind me, I turned around and slashed with my fan. The claws that were about to stab me from behind were cut off along with it's arm and fell to the ground.
"Grrr, grrr..."
Having lost its right arm, the beast stood upright, glaring at me with obvious hatred. The kobolds, famous enemies in fantasy, are the monsters on this floor. Although they are weaker than the blue bears and orcs in power, many explorers are troubled by their tactics of hiding their presence, quickly approaching, and stabbing with their claws.
The Kobold, having grown tired of the staring contest, attacked. I dodged the swung left arm and slashed its throat. It was enough to be a fatal blow for the kobold, who didn't have much physical strength.
